Formative text for me especially since my mom did notttt talk to me about my body changing in any meaningful way when I was young. However she did supply me with this and I had unlimited access to tv and internet… anyways this body book is so informative and graphic (in a good way!) however as someone who developed a little faster than her peers I was still embarrassed by my body not looking like everyone else around me. Still, this book was open and honest and reassuring. They changed the book and split it in two (for younger and older) I think in 2013 and got rid of the tampon insertion spread in the first one?? Not totally against that as those images were burned into my mind and if my memory ever goes I am certain my last image memory will be that spread. Anyways, I returned to this as an adult and it’s still comforting and the illustrations are so good
